Why does Lot offer his virgin daughters up for a gang bang?

When I read the old testament I read it symbolically. I feel as though the Holy Spirit has led me to this revelation. For others, maybe not, it all depends on what God wants YOU to see.

An example would be dreaming that a person you know is a turtle...well that would be symbolic that this person has a soft interior attitude and yet exhibits a hard outer attitude.

Now, take this for what you will...it is my interpretation after all....but I think the meaning of this scripture is this...

the angels arriving and washing their feet is symbolic of arriving at a foundation - purity arrived for Lot, he wanted purity(angels) to stay with him - going so far as to beg them to stay even knowing that it was dangerous...the young and old that came demanding sex...was that aspect of people...young being immaturity and foolishness and old being of the mind that you are wise and all-knowing or better and they wanted to defile the purity. Lot went out and shut the door (barrier between the purity and ugliness). Then Lot offered up his virgin daughters and to me that was symbolic of his need to release his selfish nature, virginity is giving of compassion and unselfish love and he did this to save the purity within.

Basically, to me this is all symbolic of our trials and tribulations and that we have the purity of God within us and that will always win out if we have faith and follow the spirit (don't look back on the past and fret, leave it all there, we are forgiven and given a new life). God's light always grows within us with each act of kindness and selflessness.

I could go on...but none of it is about sex with daughters, etc. it is all symbolic to me...but let your heart lead you, you felt something was not right...try and read it without "worldly" "materialistic" eyes, read it as though each word is a description "daughter = feminine, softness, fragility, etc." and then it may start to make more sense to you.
